Maybe you are correct, it is old fashioned.

When I was a young married woman, the rule was “Do all you can to make your husband shine, be proud and stand tall”.

Yeee gads, we even ironed their under clothes.

Today, they wash their own clothes and fish them out of the dryer, when it is time to get dressed.

LOL, the liberated woman, has no idea what she gave up, it was her whole ‘reason for being’............today they tear down the male to make themselves look more important, and get nothing in reply.

Of course a good man to start with helps.

Sorry, I didn't see the "granny" in your name. I assume my grandmother, if she were still alive, would probably share the sentiment. In some ways, though she would be loathe to admit it, so would my Mom.

Which is not to say that there are specific difficulties with professional women today, especially ones that want to maintain a career and start a family. Not impossible, mind you. Especially in recent years.
