Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee won the first Republican primary of the 2008 election last week, but many top conservatives are not happy, with some calling him a "christian socialist" and others a "Republican Jimmy Carter."

Huckabee, is a political shyster, a snake oil salesman, and...well...a Huckster.

If that is what you think of him, perhaps it would be helpful to think that he is our shyster, our snake oil salesman. And you should also think that those kind of politicians are consistent winners. Winning is everything....Everything. Clinton/Obama must be defeated.

I’ll vote for Huckabee long before I’ll vote for Obama.

One other thought.

Voting for a fiscal and foreign policy liberal who uses the banner of “conservatism” assures that not only will Huckafraud put our national security and economy at greater risk, but he will do it under a “conservative” brand name.

If given a choice between a Clinton or a Huckabee, both of whom would send this country into the toilet, I would rather be able to blame Hillary and her liberalism in 2012, than have to rebuild America and Conservatism after Huckabee destroys both.

PS How can a “Laissez-faire capitalist” possibly vote for Huckabee without puking?

Say what you want. You get what you vote for. Personal responsibility needs to make a come back. I will not vote for a liberal so it won’t be my fault.

If you or others are afraid then vote for a conservative and there are only two running.

A lot of fine people are backing Huckabee. I would hope they start asking some serious questions. This guy is a pure con.

Rush was not flustered, he was frustrated that people are so stupid.

He is trying his best not to overtly support someone so as not to affect the election process. He is telling the truth as to who is conservative and who is not. I find that admirable. Face it if he came out and openly backed a candidate at this point ( way to early ) it would make a difference one way or the other and if that candidate lost he would lose all credibility.

Interesting how there is no substantive criticizim of Thompson, only the same “He’s not perky” crap. Well, if he got the nomination, I suspect even Fred Barnes would start talking about Thompson’s “Gravitas”.

Nobody wants a First Pastor with nanny state proclivities

The question that raises...is do they want a First Bishop with nanny state proclivities either?

Rick,

As posted above some said “STOP THE SLIDE TO THE MIDDLE”.

Actually I think it should read “Stop the slide to the left”. In many ways Bush was the middle (and a wimp some times) as in the No Child Left Behind that Kennedy wrote and he backed then when it (of course) failed he takes the blame!

I say NO to more appeasers and bipartisan crap. We give.. they take and we get blamed and they are never satisfied, it is always “more..more.. more”. I am fed up and I will NOT be a part of “Vote for the lesser evil”. Lesser evil, is that like a little pregnant?

I have said this all along, I’d rather fight from the opposition that from the same party.

What say you?

I say: Club for Growth -- the "conservative" Move-On.org?

I say: Real Republicans like Mike. Whigs do not.

And I think that a lot of generally amoral libertarians and curmudgeons have been working at turning the Republican Party back into the Whigs -- and will suffer the same fate, if allowed to.

Who said I wasn't? My main issue is the WOT and the frightening possibility of the Dems in charge. But you take your ball and go home.

Other than Clinton being pro-life how so?

Whats the difference between Mr.”arrogant bunker mentality” Huckabee and Mrs. “Willfull suspension of disbelief” Clinton?

Indeed Bill Clinton and Mike Huckabee are practically clones of each other.

WTF is wrong with Arkansas anyway?!

"Laissez-faire capitalist"

That pretty much spells it out. And utopian laissez-faire has never been what our free republic has been about.

Sure is not, under our present globalist threat.
