Florida has a Republican governor, one U.S. Senator and a legislature overwhelmingly Republican; and the fourth highest number of electoral votes in the nation. Even Bill Nelson, the lone Democrat, condemned the action of Howard Dean - whose scream was heard round the world. The Democrats were afraid to give this lunatic the nomination and thought he'd be quietly safe heading the DNC. But Howie can't be restrained and shot the Democratic party in the foot. As long as this lunatic is running the Democratic asylum Republicans will be happy!

What? The Democrats are disenfrachising Florida voters? What happened to “let every vote be counted”?

Nice if we get more Republicans. Kind of a bummer if we get a lot of Democrats voting in our primary.

This reporter gives us only anecdotal evidence, so who knows what the motivations are? But at least some of them are up to the usual mischief of party switching.

He'll switch back, after committing some political strategy in the GOP primary:

"I'm going to vote for the least electable Republican," Johnson said. "I'm thinking Ron Paul."

Some of the quotes in that article are truly frightening. I think my IQ dropped a few points just reading it.

I don’t see why it would be considered favorable having Democrats voting in Republican primaries. I intend to vote in theirs, but only so I’ll be assured of at least one opportunity to vote against Hillary Clinton.

I can’t see how Dems converting to Pubs is going to help our cause. These people will be voting for the likes of Giuliani, McPain, or any RINO you can think of. Left is Left no matter which direction you face.

Simple, dems are in the gop primary then will switch back.

They do this to control who the gop puts up.

There are too many democrats and too many republicans with ego problems this year and if either party gets bit in the butt because too many chose to flaunt their ego and run...

On the bright side, algore isn't running.

I dark note, sKerry isn't running, so there is no room for THAT brand of fun again.

Nah. In the GE they will vote Dem. For now, they are hoping to prevent a Republican, who is actually electable, from ever getting nominated. Unlike most of us, these folks see a big difference between what we call "RINOS" and real Democrats. In contrast to a RINO, Hillary or Obama will surrender the war on terror. They will appoint a socialist court who will preside in this country for a generation. And they will tax you into exile.

It depends on which ones switch. If it's mostly the moderate Dems agry with the national DemocRAT party, then I think it helps us in November. If it's mostly people trying to get the most left wing Repulibcan candidate, then it hurts us. I Really don't think disenfranchising a whole state as important as Florida really helps the DemocRATS win Florida's electoral votes in November.

I know mine dropped at least 5 points just skimming the thing. It is really beyond scary reading what these people say. No wonder the country is heading down the tubes. Most of them don't have two working brains cells to rub together, BUT they vote!

Now, if we can just teach them how to use a voting machine!

And in that regard, how is it exactly that Hillary or Hussein differ from Miguel Huckabee?

In FL you can’t just choose which party’s primary you’ll vote in. You actually have to go to the trouble of changing your registration in advance of the election date and can only vote in that party’s primary. That’s why I think many of the people changing their party affiliation are serious and not taking that time and trouble just on a whim. Believe me, many of these people are really angry.

No, algore isn't running, but John McCain is, and from what he said in the ABC debate tonite, he is just as big a scammer and rip-off artist as algore is on global warming. The two of them deserve to share a cell IMO.
