Fred helps McCain by beating up on the others while leaving the weasel McCain alone and while subtly and not so subtly praising the weasel McCain. You'll notice that Fred was trying to stick his nose in to help McCain during McCain's skirmishes with Romney tonight.

Actually- this is fair- Charlie gave the Republicans a lib type question first- I think he sees this as a Republican type question- national security etc. At least I THINK that’s what he’s doing...
Romney and Rudy performed the worst in the debate tonight. Huckabee seemed to only have nice things to say about Obama. His “vertical” politician talking point is going to be his undoing. He is a nice guy who just isn’t the right guy. Mitt is going to suffer after his lack of performance tonight.
I figure both McCain, Fred, and Paul should see a boost. Any boost in NH would be good for Fred since he isn’t planning any major campaigning there. Huckabee didn’t seem to take any damage other than I think his message is really getting old.
Mitt is going to be in deep trouble. He just was horrible.
