I was very much surprised at the compulsive attacking by McCain on Romney. I thought the polls gave him a lead. You attack when your polls show you behind.

The 75% Wyoming win for Romney today should not have shown in McCain polling yet. It doesn’t make a lot of sense tactically for him to be risking the meanness appearance (that I thought he did earn) when you’re ahead.

McCain has a nasty streak; he has practically lived in New Hampshire for the past two years; and he has never gotten over the fact that he lost to GWB. He is probably having flashbacks - seeing another loss - this time to Romney.

McCain was in the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy. Mitt is brilliant. And I bet McCain is as frustrated as hell at these facts of life.
