Huckabee's Photo-Op Campaign

When the railbirds close the book on the 2008 Republican nomination fight, someone will have to figure out whether or not Mike Huckabee's photo-op campaign made any sense. Here he is, as talented a political orator as America has seen in a decade, and he spends much of his day creating fun pictures for the local news in Iowa and New Hampshire.

In just over a week, we have been treated to bird hunter Huckabee (posing with shotgun and dead pheasant), barbershop Huckabee (with a straight razor shave), football fan Huckabee (watching a game with his dogs), and marathon runner Huckabee (running in a parka the color of Iowa corn). After landing at around 4 a.m. in New Hampshire Friday morning, Huckabee caught a few hours sleep so he pose as rock star Huckabee in Henniker, rocking out on bass with a local band called "Mama Kicks." That picture landed on the precious front page of the state's biggest newspaper, the Union Leader, on Saturday, next to Barack Obama, in a much more conventional handshake shot.

Then this morning, in Londonderry, Huckabee came out in a red sweater as bright as a clown's nose to lift up bright blue soccer balls, which he said he was giving to the children of Iraq. "Wouldn't it be great if this soccer ball could replace a bomb?" he asked the crowd, who had gathered at a local middle school to raise money for local charities. And so was born soccer ball Huckabee.

“Wouldn’t it be great if this soccer ball could replace a bomb?” he asked the crowd...

As usual, Slickabee is oblivious to the fact that American citizens have been donating soccer balls to Iraqi kids for quite a while.

August 2003 - 54,000 soccer balls donated

Win or lose, he could make a fortune as a political consultant. He knows how to communicate with that gullible but necessary voter we net junkies hold in such disdain.

"Wouldn't it be great if this soccer ball could replace a bomb?"

Ummmm no. Not if the bomb was intended to take out an IED manufacturing shop in Iraq. Not if the bomb was intended for cover for American patrols under fire in the field in Afghanistan.

The fact that he is playing into the "all bombs are bad" mentality of the left shows that he's an at-heart liberal. What a buffoon.

Song from “Tommy” time...

Hucky the Pinball Wizard sings:

Senation

I overwhelm as I approach you
Make your lungs hold breath inside!
Lovers break caresses for me
Love enhanced when I’ve gone by.

You’ll feel me coming,
A new vibration
From afar you’ll see me
I’m a sensation.

They worship me and all I touch
Hazy eyed they catch my glance,
Pleasant shudders shake their senses
My warm momentum throws their stance.

You’ll feel me coming
A new vibration
From afar you’ll see me
I’m a sensation.

I leave a trail of rooted people
Mesmerised by just the sight,
The few I touch are now disciples
Love as One I Am the Light...

Soon you’ll see me can’t you feel me
I’m coming...
Send your troubles dancing he knows the answer
I’m coming...
I’m a sensation.

I cannot support Mike Huckabee. He is a LIBERAL. He’s good on Abortion, Gay Marriage and the 2nd Amendment and that’s it. He is awful on taxes (his record from Arkansas), immigration, populism, defense policy, and of course foreign Policy. He subscribes to the same “Can’t we all just get along logic” of the Democrats. In this day and age, that is simply unacceptable.

Thats what the Rootio’s said, Sorry, ain’t gonna happen for Huck. Same way it didn’t happen for Rooty.

I told them, and I will tell you. I am not going to vote for a liberal, nanny state, illegal pandering fool.

My bottom line.

>>”Don’t know what this guy is smoking!!!”<<

Dislike him so much you can’t even admit the obvious? Huckabee runs rings around the other Republican candidates when it comes to speaking ability. Imagine if Bush had even half Huckabee’s public speaking ability.

The general election is going to be a contest between two excellent orators, Obama and Huckabee, and if they both stay on message and de-emphasize the negative, we’ll finally settle the issue of whether America is essentially a conservative country, or not.

And in the end Huckabee’s platform will run Obama’s into the ground, because this IS a conservative country.

>>”Huck needs braces.”<<

So did Gore. He got his teeth fixed and lost. Huckabee won’t need them. The next election will be about the message, not the messenger (Once we all get over our snit in here about Thompson being such a disappointment, and actually start to compare Obama’s platform with Huckabee’s, the difference between the two will be striking.)

You know, the last time the country elected a president because of his charm and speaking ability- we got Bill Clinton.

Admittedly- speaking coherently and with a degree of eloquence is helpful. But being a good or even excellent public speaker is NOT enough.

For heaven’s sake- this is the PRESIDENCY we’re talking about here. Get serious.

I would add that if you read the article, the author (somewhat dismissively) states that Huckabee is getting a ton of free media because he keeps coming up with ideas like this.

Running a conservative campaign on a shoestring and winning. Sounds like someone we might support in here. Oh, I forget, we did like Huckabee in here before we fell so in love with Thompson.

Face it. The guy’s a genius, and, like Reagan, he manages to get everyone to underestimate him to the point of his detractors calling him every word for “stupid” they can come up with. He’s going to win the nomination so big it’ll amaze you. Iowa was just the beginning. NH might even surprise, once Huckabee gets some face-to-face time with the voters.

He couldn't make a fortune in the South as Baptist preachers are a dime a dozen south of the Mason Dixon Line. They are all capable of his stump speeches.
