What I found amazing was how John O'Neil, when interviewed during the 2004 election year by Harry Smith, was treated with such contempt. Harry Smith could hardly contain his bitter accusations.

Times claimed the SBVFT's "claims were discredited" -- without having done any investigation that might discredit them.
I.e., they weren't true because Pinch didn't want them to be true.
