"I think we may class the lawyer in the natural history of monsters." John Keats
I have to agree with Mr. Keats.

Why do doctors like to operate on lawyers? Because it's so easy! They're spineless, gutless, and both ends are interchangeable.

He didn’t help his own cause a whole lot when, in the middle of the so-called “Republican” pork spending orgy, he declared that he couldn’t find any more pork to cut from the budget.

I don’t think he did anything legally wrong either, but he was a poster boy for RNC failure back then. The pork spending woulda made a Democrat blush.

Hey! This administration's Justice Department is doing the very same thing right now to my congressman John T. Doolittle! Doolittle and Delay were flipped off right away by Hitlery Clinton when she strode into the Whitehouse.
This administration has been compassionate to everybody except Tom Tancredo, Weldon, Doolittle and Delay!!! Loyal Americans and righteous conservatives all!!!

The current budget contains more pork than ever and -—I don’t see any Dems blushing! Why is that?

It was announced today that all government life-sciences
research facilities will start using lawyers for
experimentation purposes instead of lab rats.
The reasons given were:
1) There are far more lawyers than rats in the USA
2) Researchers don’t form emotional bonds with the lawyers
3) No matter how much you pay them, there are some things that even a rat won’t do.

Many conservatives burrowed within the Department of Justice have long complained that Gonzales (therefore, Bush) has permitted career government employees and hold-overs from Democratic Administrations to remain in perches of power and thereby water down conservative directives from the top. As one conservative and Federalist Society member in the Justice Department told me: This is definitely not Ronald Reagans Justice Department, I assure you. You have holdovers from Clinton calling the shots in a lot of places here. - - John Gizzi from: Should Gonzales Go? Human Events | March 20, 2007

The howling for DeLay’s scalp went the same place that the howling for Alberto Gonzales’ scalp went when he exited.
The DemocRats got their scalp, that’s all.

I didnt hear any sarcasm in it, and nothing was done about it. Right? Tom was frustrated by his fruitless efforts to rein in pork-barrel spending. It's tough even for a Tom DeLay to jerk the heads of ~240 Republican pigs out of the public trough, especially when there's another 200 rat pigs in there, too. So, no - - one lone Texas congressman (albeit, a powerful one) could not pull off that Herculean feat. And Denny Hastert (Republican Speaker of the House - - remember him?) was certainly no help, either. Utterly useless, in fact. So DeLay made his comment as a subtle (too subtle?) way of taking a sarcastic public slap at his fellow Republican piggies. Sheesh... DeLay needs a /sarc tag now?
You are right about one thing, though - - nothing was done about it.... That is, of course, until the elections of 2006 when the voters did something about it. (The joke's on them, though, because the rats are even worse than the Republicans!)
FRegards,
LH

Theyre very, very slowly making their way through the courts. Presumably Ronnie Earle doesnt want it to go to trial quickly, since theres no real case. There is a good chance most judges would tell ronnie earle to go fly a kite when this thing hit their courtroom. DeLay's defense team was trying to get a change of venue out of Travis county to start with, because most judges here are liberal. Any other court would probably tell earle the facts - what DeLay did was NOT even a law on the books when it happened.

Ronnie Earle refused to ever bring it to a trial. There was no plea bargain. Frist’s case was dropped too.
As are the murder charges in Haditha.
Nifongism continues to chew up men’s careers with false charges in political witchhunts. It almost happened to Justice Thomas too.
