Hunter authored the Right to Life Act, which is simply an act of the legislature that recognizes that life begins at conception. It, in effect, takes abortion jurisdiction out of the hands of the courts. This may be the quickest route to ending legal sanction for abortion and recapturing a culture of life: no need to wait years and years for the Supreme Court to change and then hoping they take a case while more women and children face the brutality of "choice."

Huckabee does not excite me as a candidate, for reasons that have been cited by numerous FReepers countless times, but does support the Human Life Amendment. However, one can make a strong case that this is an excuse to do nothing, given the high support threshold required for a change to the Constitution.
