A wiser man would have kept quiet and let the pundits blow his horn.
If conservative Christians knew the meaning of the word “conservative”, Huckabee wouldn’t have won Iowa.
Dobson shouldn’t blame this fiasco on “Reaganites” It is an insult to all followers of Ronaldus Magnus.
... and the Christian right is as gullible as ever.
“The results of the Iowa caucuses reveal that conservative Christians remain a powerful force in American politics. That had to be a great shock to those on the far left,” Dobson said in a written release.”
Correction:
The results of the Iowa caucuses reveal that some Christian liberals remain powerful in Iowa. That had to be a great shock to those truly conservative...and a boost to those on the left.
Iowa shows Christian Right Have Swung Support to Liberal Huckabee! How many times do we have to repeat this mantra? There are NO Conservatives in this race, just communists, socialists, and RINO’s!
Then why did less than 50% of said Christian Right vote for the candidate he touted?
They can yell at me again, but I’ll say it again — Fred Thompson, get together with this guy and kiss and make up.
Dobson is BEGGING you here to pay attention, to recognize the power of the religious right and to embrace them.
That’s why he said he wasn’t endorsing Huckabee.
And if Romney hasn’t talked to him, well then Romney get your butt over there and do it (but I would guess he has already, and it wasn’t enough to get Dobson’s endorsement).
I get the feeling that Dobson knows enough to not want Huckabee, but is willing to let this go on to demonstrate the power of the evangelical vote.
Nobody should doubt that getting on the wrong side of the religious conservatives is very bad, say 21+ points bad for some candidates.
I’m a fan of Dobson. I wish at some point he would endorse Hunter.
Thompsons January Dropout contract went up about 25 points last night after Iowa.
DROPOUT.JAN08.(F)THOMPSON
Fred Thompson to drop out of 2008 Presidential race on/before 31 Jan 2008 M 40.0 98.9 60.0 103 +24.8
Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and hes got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.
I do not know Duncan Hunters strategy. However, he may yet surprise us even before New Hampshire. Because he has campaigned in Wyoming, which has a race before New Hampshire, and no one else is campaigning there.

Then theres New Hampshire. Hunters already there while everyone else wraps up in Iowa. Its conceivable that he will have momentum.
Basically, its a wide open race, with the lead changing on a weekly basis. Might as well support the truest conservative, Hunter.

On the contrary...the media elites have been promoting Huckabee.
They can ditch him when they deem appropriate, much as they ditched Howard Dean.
For now he serves media purposes...to divide the GOP. If the media wanted to, they would dish out dirt on Huckabee and evangelicals would drop him like a hot potato.
...in Iowa.
Yes, it shows that the right is still powerful. Powerful and naive. Some just downright stupid!
Actually, it shows that so-called “conservative” Christians aren’t.
How come Obama winning in IA doesn’t mean that the Pro-Partial Birth Abortion left is still strong according to the MSM?
Iowa Shows Christian Right is Still Wrong. . .
Yep - strong and dumb.
