Of course, most elementary school students will tell you that hate speech is not to be confused with free speech.

Given that they've been thoroughly propagandized by the likes of the author, perhaps so. It isn't something to be proud of.

In truth there is nothing about "hate speech" that isn't simply "speech I don't like." The author offers no other criteria, only that there are protected classes and everyone else is fair game. Thanks but no thanks.

In 2004, Savage stated "I think (Muslims) need to be forcibly converted to Christianity ... It's the only thing that can probably turn them into human beings."

If Savage did say this, he probably was quoting Ann Coulter.

"The author is a SanFransicko Muslim... tells it all."

The author is also the Exec. Director of the bay area chapter of CAIR. Kind of puts his/her/it's piece in perspective.

There is no right not to be offended by someone else’s speech. As for schoolchildren, they should be taught that sticks and stones will break your bones, but names will never hurt you. Unless there is direct incitement to violence, the government has no business wasting resources on censorship. And I am not a fan of Michael Savage.

Exactly. Leaving aside most hate crime laws, which really amount to sentencing upgrades after The general standard is when speech leads to an imminent illegal act, or constitutes individual harassment.

For example, should a Rabbi incite his congregation to "kill the Muslims" on an ongoing basis, and his congregation leaves the synagogue and immediately kill a local Muslim, the Rabbi might well have some liability. Should the unlawful act occur days later, he's probably in the clear, since the act wasn't imminent. I wouldn't be surprised to see that aspect revisited one day.

I used a Rabbi and his congregation as an example so as not to offend, however substitutions could be made to make the example more relevant on the world stage.

Typical left wing twit rant. I’m glad Savage is standing up to the scum at CAIR. CAIR is to AL-Qaeda, what Sinn Fein was to the IRA..Its mouthpiece. Apparently if you disagree with America its called Free Speech. If you Disagree with Al-Qaeda(or any Libtard whine du jour) it called hate speech. So the bottom line: your free to speak if you agree with whatever cause Libtards champion..To disagree is hate speech.

The Jig is up!! the only way the Saracens will ever survive in the West is to stop free speech!! This hate speech is the gimmich being used to silence the truth about Islam.
Speech is speech regardless weather you like it or not.
And the truth does hurts especially if you are a Muslim.
Notice that this little thing on the internet now declaring Islam was a religion before Mohammed was ever born, he just improved on it and made a better version.

It is laughable. Before Mohammed the Saracens clearly worshipped a Moon God

Barf Alert?

CAIR, the California Council of Churches, Rabbi Haim Dov Beilak and other Hate Hurts America Coalition coalition members cherish America's tradition of freedom of speech. HHA is practicing its own freedom of speech when it calls people of conscience to stand up against Michael Savage's hate-filled anti-minority tirades.

That's why they sued civilians reporting suspected terrorists in a plane.

It’s not flawed, it’s a deliberate attempt to control the flow of information.

I’ve noticed that it’s usually “tolerant” people who insist that someone be silenced.

“Hate” does not hurt this country - if it is properly directed. In the Illiad, Homer once sang of “...strong Hatred, defender of peoples...”
And Islam is well deserving of suspicion, and, yes, even Hatred.

Freedom of speech must never be suppressed, except for criticism directed at minorities, non-Christian religions, homosexuals, communists, illegal aliens, and other constituencies of the Democrat party.
