I will be looking for some comments from you when you return home. Your post was very interesting. I hope many Ohioans have had a similar response to the shenanigans going on these past few weeks. I just made a donation to FRed today and my hubby had already helped to get signatures for him to be on our state ballot. I didn't like the whole Politico.com made up story they were pushing into a news story that was run on every news channel. Another one of the non-story stories that the MSM runs over and over. Looking forward to the votes being locked in the box.
The REALLY strange thing about the Iowa caucuses is that R's and D's caucus at different places. But where R's have a secret ballot (theoreticaly. I've never been to one before.) The Dems is totally open. "If you support candidate XXX, Go stand in this group and if you support candidate YYY go stand in that group."
No secret ballot in the lefty world!
It was small town america votes I guess. I volunteered to sit on the county republican committee. Does things like the booth at the county fair etc. Time to get involved and make the local level work better I think.
Had a whole notepad of notes that I took but three of the candidates had reps there to speechify for them. Ron Paul, Huck, Romney (apparently he has a great brother-in-law, thats most of what the guy representing him talked about.) Rudy's rep was a drop-dead gorgeous blonde but she didn't help.
The final breakdown was:
Huck - 24 votes
Romney - 18 votes
Fred -13 votes
McCain - 8 votes
Paul - 6 votes
And the surprise of the night:
Rudy - 3 votes (inspite of the blonde)
That's most of it ;)
