Governor Huckabee reminds me of a man that was 2nd in command at the Christian College I attended. His favorite saying, plastered all over the school, his office, and in the sermons was borrowed from the President of the school: “It is never right to do wrong to do right.” This is a philosophy I try to keep in my Christian life, in spite of the man.

You might ask why in spite of the man? He went on a crusade while the President was out of the country, culling out those who did not fawn all over him. I could even have accepted that. When I had to file an unemployment claim against them in order to seek a job, they took it to a court hearing. The man lied like the snake in the Garden. The judge agreed with us as too much of his story did not pan out.

Mike Huckabee raised taxes 2:1 over what he cut with most of the burden falling on those he claims to represent. He intervened to keep his son from going to jail over hanging, stoning, and cutting the throat of a dog at Scout camp. He registered as a newlywed after years of marriage to subvert a state law and get furniture donated to him by lobbyists and cronies. He was found guilty of enough ethics violations to run a Conservative governor from an uncorrupt state out of office. The man’s testimony does not meet up with his message.

You said — “The man’s testimony does not meet up with his message.”

I don’t mind anyone in politics being compared to others on the basis of their record. As long as its one person’s record against another, that’s fine.

As I’ve said all along, I don’t even get down to the political matters with any candidate unless they pass my *first criteria* of being a Christian. Thompson doesn’t pass that criteria with me, so I don’t even get to the point of Thompson’s political. He’s failed on the Christian part.

Now, since Huckabee does pass on the Christian part, then we can get into the political matters and compare Huckabee to any other political candidate that the GOP is running (who is *also* a Christian). If there are no other Christian political candidates that the GOP is running, then I guess that’s all we got...
