This is the first time I've seen a Republican result that wasn't mirrored here on these boards. Rush's explanation of "identity politics" goes a long way to explain why he's winning. But it doesn't explain why it doesn't show up on FR. I just don't get it. It think what you are seeing is the divergence between Republicans and conservatives. In 1980 and again in 1994, there was a tremendous overlap. That overlap appears to be shrinking. Congress was our first indicator. Bush was our second. This is our third.
I just got back from my caucus voting (Linn County Robbins Precinct)......of 178 votes Rommney got 62, Huck 42 and Fred (my man) 36. McCain and others got 10 or so....in MN-1 right next to us Rommney and Huck each got 25 and Fred got 14. McCain got 8.
A LOT higher turnout.
