I voted for Fred too but after hearing Huckabee speak tonight, I think he can win it all.

A guy from politico.com(?) on FNC said he was "broke." True?

The guy is an outright liar. Politics is dirty and this is to be expected. We have to overcome the sleaze of the left and the RINOs. I am going to donate another $100.00 to the Fred campaign! We must not give up. We must defeat all the Socialists on the left and right.

Sorry, you can’t bring politics into the matter of how a person “qualifies” as a Christian. It may not be a “popular idea” — but you know..., even a Democrat can be a Christian (no matter how much you hate his politics... LOL).

OK, now you're on the side I'm on here...I'll have to take back my last comment. Read my tagline. That, plus the quote of yorus above, is exactly why Huckabee does NOT deserve our support. He is a Christian, he is NOT a conservative.

I just cannot believe the absolute ignoring of Fred by the MSM.This is a man who has had a long relationship with
Hollywood (Law & Order) But he still will take 3rd, which is great.

When have the Republicans ever nominated someone who wasn’t prolife?

What is there for the “GOP to learn”?

I’ll vote for Ronald McDonald on a write in before I’d vote for a RINO like Huckabee, Rooty, Romney or McFlake. And I’m sure there’s a large crowd of true conservatives that would follow me. Then you guys can blame yourselves for getting a the commie pinkos elected to run the country.

Ping !

Yeah, I have to admit I'm bummed that McCain is neck and neck with Fred for 3rd. But all that free media (and most of it positive)helps. Sure some of Fred's neagtive press coverage is of his own doing (or not doing) but the vast majority of it is nothing more than MSM and Republican establishment/inside-the-beltway hit pieces.

The day of the caucus Fred's spending all his time denying he's quitting. Can't tell me that didn't supress a few (or a lot of) votes with some folks thinking he's not in it for the long haul. Especially considering the constant mantra from the drive by's and the beltway elites is that he has no "fire in the belly", doesn't want the job.

Fred's result tonight is just more proof that the media plays a HUGE part in determining the outcome of elections. And that really screws Fred because he refuses to pander to the media or play by their rules.

YEs, as I thought, Romney never has dissed another candidates religion for votes.

What? So if a David Duke type candidate held membership in the KKK but stayed quiet about specific racist tenets of the KKK, that's OK with you?

But a good try by you. Journalists who've spoken to those in the Romney campaign assure their readers that Mitt Romney is no "cafeteria" Mormon (meaning a pick & choose whatever parts of his faith he wants). [And when these journalists say this, they mean it as a compliment to him].

Mitt Romney said almost a month ago in his Mormon faith speech that he "will not...disavow one or another of its (faith of his fathers) precepts...I believe in my Mormon faith...I will be true to them and to my beliefs."

So, since he says he "will be true...to my beliefs," the most prominent LDS belief is the 100% "apostasy" of the Christian church--the Church supposedly spiritually laid to rest by the one Romney is a disciple to--Joseph Smith. (Without a Mormon-version 100% Christian apostasy, no need for a Mormon restoration.)

As for dissing another candidate's religion, he already has done that by not disavowing vital components of his faith. And by doing that, he not only indirectly disses us, but alienates his voter base.

He obviously knows this is the year, 2008, and we are civilized now, lol! Some of us, anyway.

This is like saying "Yeah, we all know Candidate A is an open sado-masochist, but as long as he doesn't describe to us what he actually does in bed, then that's our definition of what being 'civil' is."

I sent $100......gotta support FRed.

I am still stunned after changing back to Fox News. They don’t even mention Fred. It’s all about Mitt, Huck and McCain. Pitiful.

You asked — “How does Mitt’s upbringing affect his ability to be a president?”

It affects him in that he won’t be getting my vote... LOL...

No cult member gets my vote; no non-Christian gets my vote — Romney has a “double-hit” against him from my voting formula... (both cult and non-Christian).

His Christianity is not the problem. His lack of honesty and horrible record in office, both legislatively and ethically, are the problem.

“Having lived with a “born-again” evangelical Christian and a Mormon, I can say that they have far more similarities than Fundies would like to acknowledge”

You’d probably call me a “fundie” (I’m a Bible-believing evangelical). I don’t mind acknowledging that Mormons and ourselves have similar values and behaviors. Not identical, but similar. For instance, we both think homosexuality is a sin; we abhor abortion; we believe sex should be within marriage; we are against stealing, lying, profanity; we support charity heavily; we work hard.

Our beliefs in terms of the person and work of God are pretty different, though.

If you truly can’t see that your posts represent all those phrases, I feel sorry for you. You don’t have any perspective.

I’ll pray you find some soon.
