I'm just curious as I have been wondering about this: Does Paul have some structure on the ground in Iowa to get voters to caucus? I know he has the $ to set up a serious outfit to get his people to caucus which is probably not true of Thompson or McCain, or Huckabee, but Huckabee has glommed on to existing groups like churches, etc.

If you are aware, I would appreciate your answer. Thanks.

I’ll throw my 2 cents in on this one.

I don’t know the extent of the official campaign operation in Iowa, but he has, at least, 40 meet up groups in Iowa with about 1500 members. Since some of those members belong to more than one meet up group, the number of unique members is probably in the 700-1,200 range. You can be sure that almost all of the meet up groups are active in getting out the vote for Ron Paul tonight.

There are also a lot of out of state volunteers working in Iowa. While they are not as coordinated as Romney’s campaign, they are part of the mix.

We will know in about 7 hours just how effective his get out the vote effort has been.

He doesn't need to spend millions on an organization; Paul's supporters are out there in Iowa canvassing, motivated on their own.
