"We will hold out for as long as it takes," the mustachioed sheep farmer, an unsuccessful presidential candidate last April, said Thursday.

Bove, who is in his mid-50s, ate only vegetable soup for eight days before the fast to accustom his body to the lack of food,

To this day I will never understand the point of hunger strikes. What do the protesters gain by dying of starvation?

Bobby Sands of the IRA went 66 days to his death.
The Millau Mickey D’s sounds good! Are they in the traffic pattern for the bridge?

I’ll explain it. There is not left without sanctimony. When the striker dies, his/her supporters declare, “They killed him/her.” Because there is no capacity for reason, they fail to understand that:
- the deceased one announced his/her intention to die.
- the deceased killed himself/herself.

The theory is that if someone dies, someone else should feel guilty.
