Am I the only person that remembers Arc Light raids?
The old saw - Willie Peter will make you a believer.
We went to Iraq with way too few troops, did not add more until it was almost too late.
I am not a Rummy fan and I have learned to keep my opinions about Bush (both of ‘em) to myself.
There were just too few Marines to do the job on the first fight.
"Iraq is just one of the many things the Bush Administration does, starts with a bunch of big talk, gets everybody committed and then jumps ship halfway through and leaves a mess."
My claim is that the statement (above) that you made in post #5 is demonstrably false. The face that we still are in Iraq, with the full support of President Bush, in face of a Congress that wants us to cut and run, is proof.
And is the president going to see this through till the end?
No, he’s going to keep on half-assing it, like he did from day 1 and then leave Fred to clean up the mess.
Seesh, I don’t think I’ve seen such bitterness over a war we are winning on FR before.
I predict Bush is going to go down in history as one of our greatest presidents, and the biggest single feather in his cap will be Iraq.
Are you claiming the war will be over by 1/20/2009?
Are you joshing me? We are but a few years into, and a couple countries, of a hundred year war.
No wonder you’re so bitter, you’re living in some sort or la la land.
A hundred year war? Good Lord Boy stop repeating every bedwetting neo-con nightmare. It took us 12 years to defeat Nazism, 4 years to defeat the Southern Traitors, 45 years to defeat the Soviets - And you’re telling me it’s going to take 100 years to beat a bunch of ass-backwards cave dwellers?
They could have listened to Patton instead of Monty, and we would have been spared the disaster of Operation Market Garden.
that was what 10 days? How long did it take W to do the surge? If he did it in 2005, the GOP would have still controlled congress and Fred would be leading in Iowa.
Well, for starters, it’s going to take ten or twenty years just to stabilise Iraq, and we have Iran, Syria, (and as it looks) France, Germany, even England to deal with
Whole generations have to die before the hearts and minds of those ‘cave dwelling, airplane flying, possibly soon to be nuclear bomb controlling, soldiers’ are gone.
I’m sure glad guys like you are confined to the keyboards.
I’m with Cheney when he said that we’re in for a hundred year war.
