vs Limbaugh's

Like Rush's callers said today, I don't that Huckabee has ever been ideologically at odds with Rush. I think Rush doesn't like him personally and never has. Rush tried to give him the kiss of death by giving him the MSM's endorsement as an ideal weak opponent. Then Rush used the alleged slight as a pretense to attack him, as pointed out by the pundit clips on the show.

I don't think that Rush cares that much about abortion, he belittled the issue long long ago with "caller abortions". I have never heard him criticize Reagan and Bush for Kennedy and Souter. He is happy to have the issue and votes in perpetuity but then the irritating issue and the people who care about it must go right back into the closet in the basement so he does not have to hear about it from his socialite buddies.

He doesn't get it at all. And the same equivocation on abortion is why Thompson (obviously Rush's guy) does not have a chance. Maybe Thompson thinks abortion is nasty, gross, unpleasant and irresponsible. He might think that Roe v Wade was bad and unprincipled judicial activism. But he does not think it is a moral abomination, a holocaust that places our nation under the judgment of the furious, righteous and just God who has given us every unprecedented blessing of freedom, peace and prosperity that we enjoy. God gave us America Rush. Sure he did through rugged individualists but not by them. He can take it all away from us so easily. He did not spare Sodom, Gemorrah, Tyre, Sidon, Jerusalem, Constantinople or Rome forever. How long do we have?

If anyone on this thread thinks abortion is a necessary and appropriate choice for rape, incest and "the life of the mother" go ahead and support Thompson.

From Reagan's Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation: Malcolm Muggeridge, the English writer, goes right to the heart of the matter: "Either life is always and in all circumstances sacred, or intrinsically of no account; it is inconceivable that it should be in some cases the one, and in some the other." The sanctity of innocent human life is a principle that Congress should proclaim at every opportunity.

That leaves Christian Conservatives with (alphabetical order):

Thats where I am folks, I take any one of the three who looks strongest when the election finally gets to Kentucky.

Mark 8
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

“I have never heard him criticize Reagan and Bush for Kennedy and Souter.”

I don’t believe you listen to Rush.

Thanks for the comments. “Life is more important than food.”

And the old saw that “Presidents can only nominate judges.” to have an impact for our foundational Right to Life is a transparent ruse.

Good night.

Very interesting comments on abortion. A few years back when the polls started showing a majority against abortion, suddenly the media went silent on it. All of the candidates on the GOP side except Huckabee try to avoid talking about it because they’ve all developed shoulder ticks from shrugging about the subject. And the best the GOP handlers can come up with is “no matter...they’ll nominate judges who will figure out it’s really bad.”
Voters haven’t forgotten the abortion issue...and what scares the rest of the candidates is that they know Huckabee will make it an issue.
I like Rush, but he’s getting a bit too predictable. This entire thread is a hoot. Imagine a passing criticism by some unnamed staffer setting off Rush for several days. Doesn’t Rush brag that setting folks off for days is a badge of some sort (like when he tweaked the media on Hillary’s looks). Anybody believe Rush isn’t taking this personal? lol
