Maybe it’s just me, but we seem to have quite a few purportedly conservative posters on conservative sites putting forward some of the lamest “progressive” memes of late.

Sure makes one wonder.

Wow, Rush Limbaugh is really full of himself.

Rush, be a man and invited Mike Huckabee on your show and talk to him man to man.

Rush Limbaugh is such a hypocrite on this . . divorced three times, no children, and no military service.

and he is Mr. Conservative Values?

Go back to DU from whence you came.

I would say welcome...but you won’t last long.

Huckabee's like a second-rate actor - you can "see" him acting.

P. T. Barnum was right.

"Power corrupts and market manipulators bring down American wages in favor of Chinese sweatshops."

Oh, so driving up the cost of doing anything in the USA with all sorts of taxes and regulations is now 'market manipulation'?

Cheap foreign labor has always filled the stores like Pier 1 with cheap goods. The fact that China and India figured out that making silicon chips was more lucrative than making wicker chairs is not due to 'market manipulation', but simply to the markets in India and China being more open to capitalist ventures than in years past.

It's amazing how many folks don't understand that when the rest of the world gets smart and goes capitalist, we'll won't be as rich by comparison. This will last until the relative wages balance out. Then, of course, we'll be poorer than the rest of the world by the ratio of our stupid regulation and taxes to theirs.

“And the old saw that “Presidents can only nominate judges.” to have an impact for our foundational Right to Life is a transparent ruse.” What’s your plan?

The president should do everyting right and reasonable, to curtail abortions, while actually making an effective effort to convince America of the reality of the need to protect all innocent human life -- for a change.

Not even the great communicator, Ronald Reagan, did that as much, as well as he could have (to say nothing of nominating O'Connor).

We need leadership. Also including:

- make sure no anti-life provisions in treaties, etc.
- continue to stand strong against embryo farming (but be happy to receive pharaceutical's money and use it against their worst work)
- assure no taxpayer funded abortions
- pressure Congress and lead America to end the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood
- be sure to veto the next attempts at harrassing pro-life demonstrators
- stop IRS curtailment of non-profit freedoms to speak and take pro-life action
Etc., etc., etc.

Huckabee wouldn’t know Jack Kemp from Jack Daniels.

Now, that's funny. (and it might be closer to the truth than you might suspect)

huck sure turned out to be a dud, didn’t he?

I just hope the people of Iowa see thru his B.S. and vote for Romney. That will eliminate the huckster from the race.

I saw Huckabee on Leno. I think he hit a homerun. If any undecideds in Iowa saw it, they will be inclined to lean toward Huckabee. Talking about his weight loss and guitar playing make him extremely likeable. Leno calling his jacket a triple-wide was laugh out loud funny. His story about his doctor giving him a death sentence and his response to it speaks to his character. I wasn't aware of his radical plan for the IRS. Even I like that. Citing his financial underdog status when compared to Romney was helpful. Americans like an underdog. You know, the story about the negative ads is a good one. Ed Rollins wants to kick Romney in the teeth, but the candidate shows he is in charge, that he is the "decider" by going against the conventional wisdom.

His mention of verticality and horizontal politics can also resonate. These words are often used in church politics and liturgical discussions. One wonders if that is where he got them and if they are directed toward a certain constituency. Nonetheless, it is true that many Americans don't pigeon-hole policies in ideological terms. If he can articulate that notion, he will be very popular. And speaking of articulation, what a breath of fresh air to hear someone speak the English language, actually complete a sentence when compared to what we have had to endure the last eight years.

So, not a grand slam, the format didn't allow that, but definitely a homer, and the fact that he got on the Tonight Show the day before the caucuses is just another quiver in his arrow. It speaks to his desire to win and his ability to discern how to get exposure. The guy is a winner.

And speaking of articulation...

And a fine articulation of the kind of effort it will take for a Republican to win in November -- and lead after that.

Hopefully, it will be enjoyable to observe. I think I'll actually do some participating.

Hope vs. just "Hot Springs"

Hope vs. just "Hot Springs"

Yeah, I wasn't aware that he was the real man from Hope. Anyway, his political skills are very good, and ideology notwithstanding, he may be the best nominee to counter the democrats in an election that is going to be about change. Huckabee wins Iowa.

Huck is really attracting the lowest of the low. Sorry, but I have yet to read anything by any Huckafan that made any sense.
