Why limit the tone upgrade to US immigration laws only? Indeed Mexico has the most restrictive ones in all Latin America.

And what of the treatment meeted out in Mexico to Guatemalans attempting to head north? Mexican immigration laws are harsh, indeed, but harsh is the treatment when Mexican laws are even applied in such cases; need you wonder what happens to Guatemalan women at the err...HANDS of the Federales...?

And their men are made TO WATCH.

Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition are urging presidential candidates of both parties to conduct the debate over immigration policy in a civil manner “that respects human dignity.”

In other words, why can't everyone just embrace the idea of unlimited crossing of our borders by whom ever wants to? Liberals ideas of a "civil manner" is if you agree with them.

Ms. Terrell said this “destructive attitude has permeated our nation,” making the discussion about immigration a more “complex and difficult debate.

Actually, what makes the discussion more difficult is the use of the race card and dancing around the fact that they are breaking the law and usually more than one. It is not complex at all, it is simple.

In other words, the "debate" is not going her way.

Good!

It’s not about human dignity.

It’s about RESPECTING our LAWS and the bigger issue of United States Sovereignty vs. a globalist welfare state.

"Calling for a new tone on immigration" is simply liberalspeak for:

"Back Off! Let Up! You've got us on the ropes! Please! Stop it! Have mercy on us! You are beating us to a pulp! Surely we can work this out and discuss it civilly. Mommy! Tell him to quit it!"

The fact is, they have read the poll numbers, they know they are getting their asses kicked nationwide on the issue of illegal immigration as the sleeping giant in America has awoken, and also in states and localities that are taking potent and direct legal and administrative actions on anti-illegal aliens, one by one. They know soon they will be completely routed. So they publish this crap. Sheesh, call the "Whaaaaamubulance"!

I say "GOOD". It shows we are winning.

What immigration debate?

I thought we were concerned about illegals committing crimes and escaping to foreign countries when it looked like they might get caught.

"We pledge ourselves . . . ."

Does this mean they will acknowledge that our objections are to ILLEGAL aliens and not immigration? They're gonna stop calling us bigots, racists, xenophobes?

Wot?

Oh.. we have to stop opposing "undocumented workers." I see. We have to forget our Nation of laws, not men. I really do see.
