Perhaps. Many of these ‘mistakes’ that he’s made will be forgotten in time as they are incconsequential in the long term.
50 years from now nobody will remember or care that he backed Arlen Specter in the primary. But we will remember his stand against Islamic extremists. When Social Security is bankrupt, we will wish that we had followed his path of privatization.
60 years ago the world was bashing Harry Truman as a failure. Today he is remembered differently.

“But we will remember his stand against Islamic extremists. “
Yup. While he was trying to make a purse out of a sow’s ear by bringing “Democracy” to Iraq instead of installing a pro-American military government and the Wahhabists in Saudi Arabia have spread their venom with impugnity throughout the World, including the U.S., and the Iranians get their nuclear bombs, and Pakistan fragments into warring Islamic states armed with nuclear weapons.

Your right. Harry was a first class mensch. He orchestrated the first military defeat in modern U.S. history and thanks to him, Red China wasn’t taken out and a Democracy installed, as McArthur would have and COULD have done.
