Before Huckabee, a word from the sponsor . . . by Christi Parsons and John Chase
WEST DES MOINES--They came to hear Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee speak, but first the crowd of hundreds had to sit through a soft-sell pitch on the wonders of multi-level marketing.
For half an hour, two businessmen paced the stage where Huckabee would soon stump. They never said the name of the company during their talks, but afterward some members of the crowd shared with others the good news of a company called Quixtar Inc.
Quixtar is a sibling company of multi-level marketing giant Amway and, according to Huckabee's public schedule, the host of the event.

Ooof. Major Faux pas on Huckabee’s part.
Well, at least maybe they'd finally be able to get the sheets clean... /grin
The sad part is that some of the products are quite good- I purchased some Amway laundry detergent and household cleaners and they were incredibly good.
The problem is you could not just ask the salesman to buy something without getting hit with the amway pitch to become a selle. All i wanted was to order some stuff...I would still order it if I could
Amway changed its name to Quixtar because of negative publicity associated with Amway.
This past summer, they announced they are changing their name back to Amway in 2009.
Of course, they were mislead. It’s like cable tooting in the beginning by a bunch of crooks that there would be no advertising when they were going to put so much advertising on you aren’t even sure you watched the intended program they also advertised.
Well, doesn’t Arkansas rank 49th or 50th in the country on education exams?
Libs need uneducated dependents to stay in power.
Perhaps Huck hasn’t yet realized that lots of us can and do read.
Some of us even examine voting records.
This guy has. www.merchantsofdeception.com/
It is good stuff but not worth the hassle. They have ruined a lot of lives although I know one guy who got rich doing it.
Scamway unfortunately (through the DeVos family) is one of the biggest GOP contributors
Anything that pushes “getting others into the business” over the sale of products should be avoided. Pyramid schemes only make the early entrants rich, while the bottom levels never make anything.
Of course, the DeVos/Amway people are never afraid of government welfare. The city of Orlando, and Orange County, is building a mostly taxpayer-subsidized arena for them (they own NBAs Orlando Magic)....because they dont like the current taxpayer subsidized arena they already have
Dumb move by Hucksterbee. Opening a campaign stop by pushing a pyramid scheme is nuts. Would have been better off having Chuck Norris push his exercise machine
Actually, they do. You can't be a good Ambot unless you buy all the motivational material and fork over for extremely important conferences (brainwashing sessions). That's where the money is for the higher-ups, not in soap sales. Doesn't matter if it's your anniversary, your kids birthday, or if you just can't afford the travel and over priced ticket. You want to succeed, don't you?
Two years ago, I had to help a friend get out of Quixtar’s grip. I find it unbelievable that the media hasn’t picked up on this. These companies are just barely legal. It makes sense that Huckabee’s supporters are involved with cult-like companies such as Amway and Quixtar.
Don't you know? Huck considers examining his record lowdown and dirty...that is.....until he gets a chance to come up with slick excuses to feed his misguided followers.
But he is fun and funny, he plays the guitar and his homie Billy Jeff plays the sax! Is positively presidential./s Ugh.
Wow! I wonder if the guitar or sax will soothe away all that rotten karma between us and all those people who want us dead.
Hucky and Bill’s Arkansas Jug Band. LOL!
Next thing we will find out Hucky can ballet too.
A very Amway tactic, I'd say.
Thank you all for your input. I’ve shared your points with my son and he will steer clear of quixtar. Thanks again.
If the price is right.
