Seatbelt violations aren’t crimes. They are civil infractions. I agree. Get rid of them through legislative action with this caveat. Insurance companies do not have to pay your medical bills if you get ejected and no free medical from the taxpayers. You choose no seatbelt, you pay the price if things go wrong.

You choose no seatbelt, you pay the price if things go wrong.

For the vast majority of automotive history, vehicles didn't even have seatbelts.

Whatever did we do?

Failing or refusing to pay the fine for non-seatbelt usage eventually turns into a crime and if it goes on long enough, the SWAT teams shows up and kills your dog.
