It gave it’s life because it gets a doggie snack after it obeys it’s master.

wrong. Food for good behavior isn't the way you train a dog for Schutzhund or any other police function. At least not from what I've learned.

The behavior is hard wired instinct that is positively reinforced with affection.

The dog didn't "give his life" for anything other than instinct that mandated the dog chase and latch onto a suspect, that was crazier than a loon and jumped.

I love Shepards, have owned 3 and they're great with the kids and a very nice alarm system.

You might be right, I’ve never trained a dog. Instinct may be right... I’m sure the neighbors dog wasn’t “trained” to kill my cat, but it did anyway.
