The ‘armed and dangerous’ are shooting both pets and their owners at alarming rates. Unfortunately, the officers who saw themselves as serving the public are being replaced with those who have a disturbing propensity to see themselves as public masters.
Libroid media also makes a great deal of any death relating to the police or their dogs. Given that being a policeman is so Not Risky that it is not listed as one of the ten most dangerous jobs, I suspect the media attention is because media tends to like police states.
