“Transporting 362 National Police recruits by the Iraqi Air Force was not only a great success but a joint cross-Ministry operation,” said U.S. Army Maj. John M. Broomhead. The National Police Sustainment Brigade executed the life support tasks to include convoy and convoy support operations, preparation of meals, movement control at New al-Muthanna Air Base, and medical support. The National Police Headquarters conducted the personnel manifests and inspected each recruit before departure. The recruits were received with equal efficiency at the Sulamaniya Training Academy where the cadre had transportation organized and meals waiting for the new recruits.
U.S. Air Force Lt Col Mark Brunworth, Commander of the 370th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron said, “We need more missions just like this one, please use us in the future and help spread the word that the Iraqi Air Force is up and flying and ready to support the Iraqi Army and Police in troop and cargo movement.”
As long as the airbase ain’t named MURTHA AIRBASE.
FYI:
The “National Police Sustainment Brigade” is a new formation. It was just cadre staff in November. Now the INP Sustainment Battalion has taken custody of five (of seven) INP medical facilities and is doing this...
No data or activity from the INP Maintenance Bn or the INP Transport Bn yet.
In addition to that, the INP has added/is adding nine new line battalions in the last three months. 12 over the last year. Equivalent of adding a third Division. Not bad for an organization that the Washington Think Tanks wants eliminated...
PS The training facility in Sulmaniyah is DBE. They are assisting in training the influx of INP to bring them up to strength.
So:
- INP recruits supplied by INP SB
- Flown by IqAF 23rd Squadron to Sulaminiyah
- To go to school at a facility on loan from the DBE.
Looks like the ISF is getting the joint multi-service cooperation block checked off...
Nah,.. that's the name for the Garbage dump out back.
