the kids are American citizens and can and should come back when they’re older.

Why? It would be more fitting that they become part of the revolution to overthrow the Mexican government and help install a constitutional representative democracy in Mexico.

They could be part of something that could change the lives of hundreds of millions.

Good point. Once Mexico becomes truly a place that cannot be differentiated from the US in terms of law, adherence to law, due process and criminal law enforcement, we probably ought to talk to them seriously about a closer relationship.

At the moment, however, their best bet is to serve as a buffer between us and the yahoos in the rest of Latin America.
