Based on what I’ve read on Free Republic and links from Free Republic threads, I think he’s probably more interested in bi candidates.

With Boren - it might as well be a candidate chosen directly by ACT UP.
That kind of depends on who the major parties nominate. If it’s Huckabee v. any of the Democrat likelys, I’d definitely look seriously at someone backed by the few remaining non-loony Democrats and a handful of Republicans.
If we nominate Thompson, or (mirable dictu) Hunter, or even Romney or McCain, I don’t see much point in their efforts.

This was front page in our local Atlanta paper. Not that I bought one. They were even implying that Sam Nunn could use it as a vehicle for an Indy run.
But then they write for sixth graders.
If Jim Leach, Bill Brock, Christine Todd Whitman, and William Cohen want to organize a group to back Mayor Bloomberg, I am all for them. Their movement is likely to gather disaffected Bush voters who aren’t likely to vote Democratic, rather than Democrats who are fed up with all the messes that BushCo made during the past 7 years.
