I finished it yesterday. It wasn't an easy soft read. It was left lots of questions in my mind, especially about the new investigation into CIA tapes that were destroyed. I can think of several reasons for destroying those tapes, but I bet the people who will be pilloried by this investigation will be the president and his White House, and not the people who need to be punished.

It's now pretty clear to me that no matter what Republican ever gains the hot seat that the presidency must surely be for them, they will need to be vicious in removing from seats of influence very early all those old democrat holdovers from previous administration, even if they have burrowed deep into their respective agencies. These people have been relentlessly trying to undo the elections of the people of the country, endangering our fight men, and working against their leaders. One of the biggest mistakes Pres. Bush has made was being too nice. I expect the State Department to corrupt any and every person named to it, and the CIA to actively fight against anyone sent there to fix things.

Belated reply - I think you are right. Any Republican president who is not a Democrat clone will be faced with the same problem - Democratis bureaucrats at State, Defense, and the CIA who will collaborate with journalists via selective leaks to undermine the president’s policies.
