The recent History Channel Show about the Little Ice Age said that it was the cause rather than the effect of the Black Death. It is also interesting that the mini Ice Age of the early Dark Ages started just before the terrible plague of the time of the East Roman (Byzantine) Emperor Justinian. Many think that this plague, worse than the Black Death, caused the failure of Justinian to retake the fallen Western Empire. The global warming of the early medieval period, between the two mini Ice Ages, is remembered as ‘The Global Optimum’.

They must be revising history to jive with Al Gore's Gore-Bull Warming.
The Black Death began in 1347-1348 and came in a few waves, each time less deadly.
The "Little Ice-Age" began about 1645.

A lot of trees grew back over those couple of hundred years.
