PHOENIX Biologist Karen Krebbs used to study bats in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Arizona-Mexico border. Then, she got tired of dodging drug smugglers all night.
"I use night-vision goggles, and you could see them very clearly" caravans of men with guns and huge backpacks full of drugs, trudging through the desert, Krebbs said. After her 10th or 11th time hiding in bushes and behind rocks, she abandoned her research.

Follow the MONEY!
3 snipers, a case of water and a box of Snickers could solve a lot of problems?
I agree.
Maybe the Border Patrol could trade Karen a few Snickers for her night vision goggles!
“I can’t understand why our government sits by and lets this happen.”
The only people who benefit from the drug war are government agencies, politicians, and drug dealers.
The rest of us all suffer from it.
THIS IS THE BIGGEST FAILURE OF BUSH. HE AND THE DEMOCRATS HAVE SOLD US OUT FOR VOTES.
Guess they could spare one.... :o)

The rest of us all suffer from it.<
How many rehabilitation centers were built to treat drug addicted fools? The staff certainly appreciate their jobs.
How many prisons were built to contain drug addicted fools? The staff certainly appreciate their jobs.
How many hospital rooms were built to treat drug addicted fools? The staff certainly appreciate their jobs.
How many police officers are gainfully employed to arrest drug addicted fools on American streets? Think about all the crimes committed by drug addicts searching for some money to buy a line of crack. The police officers certainly appreciate their jobs. The insurance agents and security service companies also smile when you call to report a crime.
How many articles and books have been written about illegal drug usage? Those writers, editors and publishers all appreciate their share of the cut.
This list is almost unending, thanks to drug addiction. Yes, illegal drugs provide for a large part of the money that circulates within America. Don’t ever think that local and state police departments or the Drug Enforcement Agency want to become successful at this task. If we were to successfully crush illegal drug usage there would be a lot of people out of work because their jobs are directly tied into the millions of drug addicted fools in America.
How many hospital rooms were built to treat drug addicted fools? The staff certainly appreciate their jobs.
I'm not sure the need for rehabilitation centers and hospital rooms would go down if drugs were legalized.
And now a flashback from the past. Legalized drugs in Zurich Switzerland at "Needle Park"
I have been against legalized drugs most of my life. Lately I am swinging towards legalizing them in the sincere hope that users would over dose and give our gene pool a severe cleansing. We could use it.
Hahgahhah LOLOLOL
This is just one big goof. One big joke to the hacks in DC. They could give a crap about this major violation of our sovereignty. Not to mention the mountains of trash these idiotas leave. Mexico has trash heaps all around so why not make the USA the same. Throwing soiled diapers out the window in a parking lot etc etc ad nauseum
In the case of this article one could put off the decriminalization argument and focus on the borders argument. If we legalized drugs tomorrow most of these traffickers would switch to human smuggling.
Many already have for some very good reasons. The product pays before transport. It transports itself, sometimes even hauling a load of marijuana. If caught it is hard to tell the coyote from the customers. The customers know if they snitch they will get wacked when they are taken back to Mexico. Due to our catch and release program the coyotes can be back in business the minute they are dropped in Mexico.
Makes a good tagline, thanks.
The bats would give me the willies as well.
I’m sure glad drugs are illegal. Elsewise, I’d probably become an addict and ruin my life.
Although I only read the blurb atop this post I’ll wager everything I have that this scientist still supports amnesty for illegals.
But... but... but... the price of lettuce will go up, inflation will soar, and our economy will tank without illegal alien lettuce pickers. Some of the folks on FR tell me so.
Crack comes in rocks.
Powdered coke is done in lines.
