Since his doctrines were adopted, and not the doctrines of the Bible,...

Sorry, but these ARE the Doctrines of the Bible.

It is your DOCTRINES & covenants that are non-Biblical.

The only changes made in the Book of Mormon are: It was broken down into verses for easier reference, and punctuation and spelling changes.

OOps!

This'll come back to bite you!

In about the 1980s the church arranged for a University in England to put the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Pearl of Great Price through a computer process to make cross references. It was not done by BYU because they didn't have software capable of doing it.

Dang!

That's just too bad!!

I guess NOW they could probably do it!

There are also fake documents such as those done by the guy who blew himself up with a package bomb in Salt Lake City.

(He admitted to making fake documents and is still in jail for blowing people up with other bombs.)

I guess that now he is beside himself!

The doctrine of the Trinity is his.

No; it isn't.

It's the Bible's

He merely dug out the Scriptural proof and put it all together. Then, after the Church saw the Truth of it, adopted a concise group of sentences that boiled down the essential beliefs into an easily understandable Creed.

Credo - Belief.

Kinda like the LDS Organization's set: The Articles of Faith.

At that time there was no "common spelling". That came later.

Well... isn't that interesting!

Noah Webster, the author of immensely popular readers and spelling books for schools, published his first dictionary, A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language, in 1806. In it, he introduced features that would be a hallmark of future editions such as American spellings (center rather than centre, honor rather than honour, program rather than programme, etc.) and including technical terms from the arts and sciences rather than confining his dictionary to literary words. He spent the next two decades working to expand his dictionary.

If he doesn’t, his campaign will likely collapse. If so, I’ll be looking for the next best option. We’ll know soon!

How about that Ol' Huckster!?

55% of the Evangelicals did NOT vote for him!

You really should come to understand the shaky foundation of that accusation.

Why?

You don't seem to...

...understand the shaky foundation of MORMONism.

God, couldn't spell then I guess....

Nah...

It was just that GOD did not RECOGNIZE Noah Webster!!

Probably because Noah was one of them there TRINITARIANS whose every doctrine was CORRUPT!!!

Religious views

Webster was a devout Christian. His speller was very moralistic, and his first lesson began "Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink ; nor for your body, what ye shall put on ; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of these things."

His 1828 American Dictionary contained the greatest number of Biblical definitions given in any reference volume. Webster considered "education useless without the Bible." Webster learned 20 different languages in finding definitions for which a particular word is used. [Preface to the 1828 edition of Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language]

In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.

Webster released his own edition of the Bible in 1833, called the Common Version. He used the King James Version as a base, and consulted the Hebrew and Greek along with various other versions and commentaries. Webster molded the KJV to correct grammar, replaced words that were no longer used, and did away with words and phrases that could be seen as offensive.

"When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, "just men who will rule in the fear of God."

The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded.

If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws."

No, it was given one word or phrase at a time, corresponding to the original symbols.
Spelling had to be decided on by the transcriber; punctuation wasn’t given at all.

I guess one COULD assume this if they wished; but...

a given character or symbol represents a concept...

HMmmm... a CONCEPT???

What a concept!

Kinda like the "...and so forth." found TWICE in your Creed:

"The Articles of Faith"

It sure didn't come from the Bible.

It's a CONCEPT!

It IS in the Bible as you've been shown many, many, many times.

To continue to claim that it is NOT biblical is blindness of the worst kind: a REFUSAL to admit to the Truth.

Now YOU are telling ME what my belief is!

How does it feel? You and your little cabal have been telling Mormons what they believe. Turn about is only fair.

Therefore, don't take our word for it, listen to how Mormon scholors explain away changes to the BoM while maintaining that it is the most correct book ever written:

1. "Born of a Virgin" Change - as told by FAIR

"In 1837 Joseph Smith made several editorial changes in the Book of Mormon. Many are relatively innocuous, but one of them is much more substantial. In the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon, the verse we know as 1 Nephi 11:18 reads:

And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh.

For the 1837 edition, Joseph inserted "the Son of," so that the verse has read ever since:

And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh.

There is no way to know just what was on Joseph Smith's mind when he made that change, but that hasn't stopped a lot of people from trying.
