According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

Why the smart money is on Duncan Hunter

In this poll Hunter is up 3% and even with Paul and Thompson.

Love Duncan.
Have donated to his campaign numerous number of times. Am on his preferred mailing list (I think it's preferred, anyway).
But I recognize that debate winners do not always translate into political winners.
Wish it weren't so, because American politics would be so much simpler and predictable.
There is an undefinable trait people seek in candidates.
I'm not saying Duncan doesn't have it. I'm just saying that if he does, the bulk of the conservative voter base doesn't see it. (sorry Duncan)
Lastly, I think it's important for the Republican base to REWARD, or at least stop bashing, candidates who at one time made liberal comments, but have NOW switched to a full conservative supporting causes.
If we continue to call these converts names, such as liar and scum and flip flopper, what incentive do they ... does anyone... ever have to convert to the conservative cause.
