At this point...I’d predict that no one in the Republican party will have more than 30 percent of the electoral votes in the primary deal...so this party meeting in July...will be real heated...and lots of deals have to be made.

Which scares me, since the worst choices could be made in that manner. One could picture a rather divided set-up.

I was going to respond, Kev, but Rick said everything I would have said, probably better than I would have. Do what you want, but you decrease the likelihood of people taking you seriously with each repetitive posting.

In my humble opinion.

I'm beginning to think you're right. And I agree it isn't the best scenario.....

But won't it make for great political theater?

Gee a sane response on FR. I’m for Mitt but I’ll vote for Rudy over Hillary or Obama any day. I’ll happily vote for Fred or put a clothespin in my nose and vote for McPain if that’s the choice.

The Prince seems to be campaigning.

Could be that campaigning is what one has to do to win? Just a wild guess. Maybe napping wins elections but that hasn't been the case in my lifetime.

At least this thread has to do with candidates & polling.

What’s the excuse for this one, though?

I actually watched CNN tonight...some infobabe was sitting in for Lou Dobbs. The touted a brand new poll which had Fred THIRD at 11-12 percent, about even with McCain.

Even though I’m reasonably certain this is set out to be a “good news” piece for Romney, Huckabee is really getting on my nerves.

Giuliani has my ZERO support.

Giuliani IS Hillary.

Same positions, same dispositions.

NO THANKS!

Giuliani is suicide for the GOP. He is the automatic third party by virual or real. Voting for Giuliani in the primary is tantamount for voting for hillary in the GOP.

Anything to avoid a Rudy win. If we nominate anyone but him, we’ll atleast stay together as a party....

Not that I’m thrilled about everyone else.

Thanks for the ping. I really liked this part:

Unexpected late intervention by Bob Dole in the Iowa Republican caucuses confirms that Mike Huckabee may have blundered by assailing President George W. Bush's "arrogant bunker mentality" in international affairs.

"Why have you joined the 'Bush bashers'?" Dole asked in a letter to Huckabee that he made public. Dole, until now neutral in the 2008 contest, called Huckabee's critique of Bush policy in Foreign Affairs magazine a "perfect example of 20-20 hindsight."

Dole, who won the 1996 Iowa caucuses en route to the presidential nomination, told Huckabee that Iowans would not approve of his attack on Bush (who still gets 80 percent approval from Republicans).

I hadn't heard about this letter. I wonder where he published it, or how it became public? Anyway, thank you Bob Dole for saying what needed to be said.

“Giuliani is suicide for the GOP. He is the automatic third party by virual or real. Voting for Giuliani in the primary is tantamount for voting for hillary in the GOP.”

Not quite Hillary, but a win by him in the primaries...is basically a suicide pact for the Republicans.

The only joy I’ve felt lately, is the joy of seeing his numbers fall. Please continue down that path, Rudy...we all wish you a nice loss.

Huckster is Joe Isuzu Romney with a Southern accent. The liberal trash of the party that trashed and buried the party.

” The touted a brand new poll which had Fred THIRD at 11-12 percent, about even with McCain.”

I guess the perception of NH giving McCain a thumbs up is actually helping him elsewhere...or perhaps that’s just the MSM propping up the only Republican they seem to like.

Great in the sense that Huckabee is probably entering his 15th minute of fame. One less guy I’ll have to worry about trying to choose come May.

I don’t believe Huck ever soared to the top. The media wants Huck because they know he is easily beaten.

Rudy McRombee are all easily beaten. Conservatives don’t turn out to vote for liberal RINOs.

The media dreads the Fred.

Fred Thompson had only 1 percent, with slightly fewer votes than Rep. Ron Paul (also at 1 percent).

This is why I hate polls. If Fred only has 1%, then I'm Marie Osmond.
