Berliner Park is made up of many softball fields. At one time, it was the largest softball park in the nation - maybe it still is. The last decade or so has seen the south of downtown Columbus park turn into a hangout for homos that want to meet during lunch for a nooner. Iâd say several times a year there are news reports of inappropriate behavior. It's sad, many years ago it was a fun place to watch and play amateur sports. Now it's a place most fear to be near.
As a side note, the park is named after the late Lou Berliner, the long-time amateur sports reporter for the Columbus Dispatch, a holocaust survivor and a relative of my ex wife.

The weird thing about this is that the cops used a WOMAN to lure the park perverts. Women are generally not the target demographic for guys who hang around in parks.

Now it's a place most fear to be near.I played in a Phantom Rec softball league at Berliner this past summer. We always arrived as a group before gametime.
