You know, that really just doesn’t cut it in the real world, sorry. I really like Thompson’s positions, it’s too bad, but he’s finished. In the real world, a candidate has to campaign if they are going to win. Putting on these airs of “reluctance” and “integrity” just doesn’t win elections, not in this era, and we need a candidate who we can trust will do his best to win. Thompson is haunted by the ghost of Bob Dole’s campaign, and that’s why he’s imploded. And this time he won’t be coming back from behind. He’s in the high stakes national race for the GOP presidential nomination now, not back in Tennessee running against a Democrat. A ham sandwich could beat a Democrat for the Senate in Tennessee if it had an R by its name.

You still don’t understand. Think about the difference between motive and procedure.

An analogy to help you: imagine a student who hates to study but does it anyway for moral reasons, earning straight A’s.

You are going to be surprised by how well Fred Thompson does in Iowa.
