If you say something and it comes across wrong, a reasonable person tries to correct it. Do you remember when VP Dan Quayle was lambasted for misspelling "potatoe"? How about when Pres. G. Bush mispronounced "nuclear". Neither man deserved the ridicule that was poured out on them for those errors. How is this any different?

This “slip” is hardly isolated. It is in Huckabee’s character to blame America first or generally take the liberal stance on things -— his “too high” CEO pay thing comes to mind. (What does he propose? Limiting the right of shareholders to pay the board? Windfall profit taxes? The issue is a private issue between shareholders and the board.)

At the least, Huck’s “slip” shows how ill-preparped Huckabee is for the national stage. Already his “slip” is being used by conspiracy nutjobs in the muslim world to support rumors of a CIA attack.
