I actually saw a armadillo raiding on the back of a flat bed truck on I-40 near Memphis. They are also tearing up yards all over the place up here.

Oddly, armadillos jump up in the air when frighted. Prety high, too, like 3-4 feet.

This is apparently very effective at messing up an attack by a coyote or the like, but is basically just high enough to hit a pickup deer grill.

Design flaw/evolution issue, I suppose.
