I was in Albuquerque several months ago and there was an article in the paper stating that many applicants were washed out due to criminal records, mainly DUI.
There was a section of the paper devoted to mugshots of people convicted of DUI. Four pages of small pictures and only a handfull were Causasian. I was struck by the implausability so I looked it up. Albuquerque is 50% white. I wonder if the paper does this all the time.

I could not tell you.
I have not lived in New Mexico for several years.

Albuquerque is a sanctuary city for illegals, run by a sawed-off Mexican lifestyle Nazi mayor named Martin Chavez. And there is so much corruption and a$$-covering in the APD it’s mind-boggling.

ive heard that parts of albuqurque are beautiful That would have been about twenty years ago, now it is full of crack whores and illegals. And the cops are not any better, I got pulled over there once going three miles over the speed limit. No speeding ticket, they were just looking for someone to harass.

No freakin kidding--I looked it up and Albuquerque has a population of about 450K and 1100 cops. That does NOT include those in the "Police--Other" category like 911 dispatchers, etc. The town where I live has a population of 30K and 53 police officers. If we extrapolated to 450K, you'd have barely 750 officers.
But your crime rate is more than TRIPLE ours. Then again, Farmington (where I went to HS) has more cops per capita than Albuquerque and the crime there still sucks.

Define "drunk".
They don't have it there anymore (too un-PC, I guess) but on Hwy 550 between Kirtland and Shiprock at the edge of the reservation there used to be a stretch called "Blood Alley" where all the bars used to be.
It was the only place I ever saw a caution sign of a guy walking/staggering across the road CARRYING A BOTTLE. I kid you not.
Farmington cops used to tell me about folks who could pass a field sobriety test yet would still blow a 0.3 or higher. Now THAT, dear FRiend, is drunk.

There’s a great view of the city from the Flying J truck stop, which is on 98th Street at I-40, IIRC. Unfortunately, it was a MAJOR B**** getting out of there due to all the trucks going back and forth.

Really? It used to be the NM House members were the 3 and 5 time offenders. And they're not native New Mexicans? By native, I mean born and raised here. I've never in my life seen more drivers who, if they're not drunk, certainly shouldn't be behind the wheel at the given moment of observation.

Define "drunk".Having consumed enough alcohol that you can no longer operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Breath bad enough to strip the lead paint off of the shipment of chinese toys in the tractor/trailer next to you. The level of 0.08 as cited by the law is irrelevant - many can and do operate at or above this level with no ill effects.

Couldn’t tell you. Don’t plan on finding out, either. Enjoy my beer, just not prior to driving.
