Yesterdays headline of the new Turkish daily Taraf read, A secret meeting in Syria. The liberal daily wrote that a large Turkish delegation flew to Syria before Turkey began its raids against the terrorist bases in northern Iraq. Turkey is NOT our friend.
Do not let Turkey in the E.U. or N.A.T.O.
Turkey is not to be trusted.
Still shilling in favour of the communist terrorist PKK then?
Good luck with that.
“Do not let Turkey in the E.U. or N.A.T.O.”
Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952.
“Officials from the General Staff, the Foreign Ministry and the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), as well as officials from the US, Syria, Iran and Iraq, discussed the details of cooperation against the PKK in northern Iraq.”
We supposedly participated in these talks in Syria?
I doubt that.
It may be surprising, but what I heard so far is that PKK renounced their leftist agenda, and is now in favour of democratic model. I don’t know if that is true or not. Regarding the term terrorism, the definition has a subjective tone, and always could be abused. Our founding fathers could have been labeled “terrorists” by UK during the Independence War, but not so many in US would dare claim our founding fathers who fought for indepence such terrorists. The characteristics for the struggle for independence is different, but why could we label our founding fathers not terrorists at the same time Kurdish resistance against the Islamofascists for their own independence as terrorists. I think there should be an effort to avoid double standard.
The PKK is widely recognised as a terrorist organisation. Including by the US government and UK government. We’re fighting a war against terrorism and they have chosen to side with the enemy, hence the fact that the US is helping the Turks take them out. I suppose you don’t think the IRA or ETA were terrorists either? It’s quite beyond me how you contimue to be allowed to post on this site such pro-terrorist sentiments to be honest.
