Go to Google and you will find candy canes and bows adorning the website's logo. Go to China Daily and behold glad tidings of a Merry Christmas wish.
Merry Christmas to All!

“Surely you have been following the debate over stores and others have an aversion to saying “Merry Christmas.” Or perhaps I should just wish you a happy Sparkle Season.”
Oh give me a break, I’m well aware of it. And for the most part I think it’s a molehill. Please tell me what the Google logo could mean other than Merry Christmas? Please tell me about all the other holidays you would connect with candy canes that type of ribbon?
The point was that a Chinese website has not problem using the words Merry Christmas and an American company will not use those words.
Looks like FR becomes a source for another website. We should charge for this information. Just like AP, only fair, objective.
Not quite. Even Putin says Merry Christmas ... he's Orthodox.
Now that one was nothing Christmas-like, I agree.
yeah. and hitler was a christian.
Russia marks Christmas with religious, secular celebrations
Putin has his flaws. Being a politically correct atheist is not one of them.
And do some more research; Hitler was closer to Asatru than anything else.
therefore it follows from my observation that his professed religion is merely that.
my observation could certainly be mistaken. But I wouldn't bet that way, and haven't for the past 5 + years.
Of course he could change course, and begin to show signs of being true servant of his people, and many hope he will.
Or perhaps we'll find out someday that he always has. But I think the facts (as I understand them) contradict that.
Actually if you examine his rule his actions are closer to a ruling monarch than pure dictator. Personally I think he's lining up to restore the Russian Empire with himself as Tsar. And the people over there LOVE him. Everyone my wife knows in Russia supports him (something like 75% approval ratings)
Congratulations to your son. Either place would provide a wonderful experience for living for a period of time.
“No mention of Christmas on Free Republic’s front page either.”
That’s not true, or at least it wasn’t true on Christmas Day when I inadvertently ended up at the FR home page. It had a very simple “Merry Christmas” on top of the page.
It was true at the time it was written. You think I would lie about it? Why do you think there were all the posts to Jim Rob and the admins asking that they put something there?
