Paul’s notion that the Confederacy could have been bought off (as though they would not have restocked their slave inventory) is great insight in how he would deal with Islamic radicals. Surely they can be bought off too - at least until the next time, when the price goes up logarithmically.
Don’t you mean when the price goes up exponentially?
Why not?
It seems to work for the Saudi Royal Family, who consistently paid off al Qaeda.
Point is that Paul has already stated that the Middle East, Israel included, would not be getting foreign aid in his administration. The powers that be there would simply have to work out their own difficulties in stead of singing the tired old mantra, Onward Christian Soldiers every time they get their...cajones...caught on the barbed wire.
Bad enough that they get lots of dollars in oil income.

Importation of slaves was banned in the 1840’s, there were slave runners but the purchase of slaves also became not economically viable, slavery as an institution was dying out.
