I’ve been utterly untouched by his campaign here in S. Florida. Haven’t seen a bumper sticker, had a call, recieved an e-mail, nothing, bupkiss, nada.

Not even television or radio ads?

Has any Republican candidate been working South Florida visibly and hard yet? I would think SOMEONE would be trying to stake out early strategic ground there.

I’ve seen Ron Paul workers at a 4th of July event and Ron Paul bumper stickers. I’ve heard that Thompson and Guilianni were in town from friends and I heard that Hunter and I think Brownback were going to the Latin politicians conference. That’s the extent of it. No radio adverts on the stations I listen to, no TV ads yet.

Here in central Florida we’ve gotten one call from the Giuliani campaign asking if we’d consider voting for him. Uh, no thanks. We’ve also received one Giuliani mailer, a post card playing up his “strong leadership.”

I’ve noticed two Thompson, two Romney, one Ron Paul, and one Hillary bumpersticker, the latter on an ‘80s vintage Volvo. I had to laugh.

As for signage, I’ve seen one Romney in a front yard and the Paul people have put hand-lettered signs all over the place and bumper stickers on the telephone polls, which people have been complaining about on local talk radio as a eyesore.

Outside of the politically obsessed like myself, people still aren’t paying much attention, if the dearth of campaign material is any indication.
