If you went out and gave every reporter a truth serum and asked them if they were Democrat or a Republican, you'd find out that most of them are Democrats.Tony Snow is in a position to know that it isn't the politics of the news reader that counts -- it's the politics of the person who owns or controls the news organization. Whether the news reader is a Democrat or a Republican is about as relavent as whether the kid who works at MacDonalds prefers hamburgers or filet mignon. He serves up hamburgers every time.

In the traditional media, I think that the person who writes the copy has a lot of sway in adding opinion. However, the editor will catch it if it’s the right but will welcome it if it’s on the left.

In the traditional media, I think that the person who writes the copy has a lot of sway in adding opinion. However, the editor will catch it if its the right but will welcome it if its on the left.I agree that the phrasing is selected by the low-level news writers and not the owner/controller of the organization. That's why the higher-ups usually hire Democrats. But the low-level types don't make editorial policy or decide which side of issues will be supported.

Great post,
saveliberty. I missed it. Actually, I have been off a couple of days and missed a lot. Will try and catch up after Christmas. In the meantime:
“Merry Christmas to you and all the SnowFlakes!”
[And Merry Christmas Tony!]

To all Snowflakes — and Snow-disparagers: A wonderful and Merry Christmas. I’m setting aside politics for a few days to worship Christ. It seems a lot more important than anything else. As for health, plans, etc.: I’m feeling great, extremely grateful for prayers and support. I’m giving speeches, negotiating radio and TV work, working on a couple of book proposals, negotiating with an innovative health-care company, and working on deals on several other fronts. Most importantly, I’m counting blessings — and will remain in the political fray. Again, God bless to all and a Merry Christmas!
