Apparently, according to the documents below, Mike Huckabee took $35,000 in honoraria from a major embryonic stem cell research firm, Novo Nordisk, in late 2006 and early 2007. Earlier this year, Mitt Romney got substantial flack for owning stock in the same firm, and he divested himself of it. See the article below, with links to the documents and websites:
"The Cooler has obtained documents that show Mike Huckabee received $378,000 in consulting fees during 2006, while he was still governor of Arkansas. Most noteworthy, $35,000 came from Novo Nordisk, one of the world's largest embryonic stem cell researchers. It seems that when money is at stake Huckabee may be able to look past his supposedly fervent opposition to this procedure."
Huckaplop.
Iowa caucus ping!
Oops. I thought that was the one issue he was solid on.
How do you get “consulting fees” while you are a sitting governor?
ahh hucks
Well, a Google search suggests that Novo Nordisk is a regular pharmaceutical company with many diabetic customers. I really don’t have much medical terminology expertise, so I can’t decipher the technical stuff, but embryonic stem-cell research may comprise only a minor part of their operations.
Make sure this gets wide distribution. Apparently, the same firm bought 35,000 of Huckabee’s books (translated into Spanish) to give away free. Didn’t Jim Wright, the former Democrat Speaker of the House in the 1980s get in trouble for this, selling books that were disguised campaign contributions?

It does. It’s a huge european concern.
I dont mean to sound harsh, but could Huckabee be a complete fake?
Putin got $40 billion somehow while he was head honcho of Russia. Of course that is impossible in the USA.
You may be right. He’s corrupt and greedy, and these “consultant fees” are only the latest evidence of that, but maybe he didn’t know about the embryo research.
I wonder what kind of “consulting” he did?
It’s all Paul’s fault!
As much as I dislike Huck, I suggest folks read the comments on that article. There seems to be some dispute on whether he received the payments while he was sitting as governor, as well as dispute on the business the company was/is in.
I would like to know what they “consulted” him about.
Apparently, Novo Nordisk is heavily into embryonic stem cell research and have a whole page on their website devoted to it.
Romney had to divest himself of stock he owned in the same company in August, 2007 because of the uproar. See the two links below.

Bet the Lincoln Bedroom is looking pretty good to Huck.
It really does not matter. He took money from an outfit that traffics in human embryos. That is completely contrary to his whole image as a prolife purist. People in Iowa need to know who they are voting for.
I don't understand that either, there has to be more to this.........he's not that stupid , is he?
