The way Sutton has twisted 18 U.S.C. 924(c) in this case to prosecute the LEO instead of targeting the criminal as was its intended aim ought make ALL LEOs cringe because in its precedence, if they use their service weapon during the attempted apprehension of someone, they subject themselves to litigation and possible prison - right or wrong.
I wonder why Congress hasn’t revised this statute they passed and put in exclusions of those they didn’t want to be impacted by their law? So far I’ve not heard of a single member of Congress filing legislation to make any changes in the current statute.....

So far Ive not heard of a single member of Congress filing legislation to make any changes in the current statute..... Including big talkers Diane Feinstein and Duncan Hunter. As veterans of the game they know exactly where the line is drawn, and won't cross it.

Congress hasn't concluded there might be a problem in its wording nor that self-serving DA's would reinvent the statute to mean the unintended.
It takes a LONG time for things to "click" in Dense City.

Democrats won’t change this law because it keeps LEO’s in jail. Democrats DETEST law enforcement of any kind.
