Boy, now I know how to get a bunch Freepers upset, criticize the great Rush Limbaugh. What is funny is how personal you all get. Nice to see that so many people are able to set aside intellectual curiosity and allow Rush Limbaugh to do their thinking for them.

Yeah, I bet you’d get about the same response if said something as stupid about Ronald Reagan.

Hate to burst your fantasy and prejudices, but I’m quite capable of thinking for myself.

criticize the great Rush Limbaugh.

You didn't criticize him. You made an ad hominem attack on him based largely upon his personal life. Petty, at the least.

Oh, by the by, I don't listen to Rush, he bores me. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't listen to you on the radio either.

Rush is the only conservative leader I can think of who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is - and he IS a leader, using his position as a talk show host to inform and discuss. And there are times where I’ve been so annoyed with something he’s saying that I’ve turned the radio off - he doesn’t “do my thinking for me.”

On the other hand, I think he personally saved the country with his courage in speaking out against the Bush-backed immigration bill, because - by explaining the situation (as opposed to issuing marching orders) he inspired people to contact their Congress-creatures and stop that atrocity. For that alone, he’ll always have my respect.

You are nuts. We like Rush because we think like him and enjoy hearing our thoughts expressed, and there are 20 million of us. As opposed to the Err America small puddle of listeners who can’t think and don’t stay tuned in long. The end result.....bankruptcy.

Hey scumbag, you’re the one who went personal when you made reference to “pill-popping” and “thrice-divorced”.

Put down the crackpipe.

allow Rush Limbaugh to do their thinking for them.

This is where you are so wrong in your thinking about Rush. Years ago, when Rush was in Sacramento, he was the only voice on the radio that was actually saying, out loud, what we were thinking. Thus, an audience was born!

Rush says what we say in our living rooms so he is not thinking FOR us, he is just voicing OUR thoughts.

Way to stand your ground. I like Rush but his influence is starting to wane. He'll never attack someone like Ron Paul because most of Paul's supporters don't represent the current base of the Republican Party.

But if he's going after Huckabee, then it's all good. Huckabee needs to be taken out before he destroys the GOP.
