So, what we have is a huge segment of the population being forced to disavow six thousand years of religious beliefs just to placate a few people who suffer from what until very recently was correctly termed a mental illness.

I doubt most homosexuals are really that political. They are just being used as a mascot for the people who are in charge, or aspire to be in charge. They want to discredit and silence their opponents by any means possible, and homosexuality is just the most convenient weapon right now since it ties in with the sexual revolution.

Socialism has always been hostile to Christianity and ultimately this is what is driving the issue. The socialist abhores the idea that government is subsidary to insrtitutions like Church and family. The socialists wish to reduce all individuals to the status of wards of the state, the state, of course, being THEM.
