From the House of David
One came to save the world
He came not with an army
Or with great flags unfurled

He walked the paths of glory
Teaching of hope and joy
Healing the sick and weary
With powerful love employed

He came as a babe
From Mary’s virgin womb
He gave His life to save us
From eternity in a tomb

His Spirit lives within us
Our hearts with Him are filled
We long to walk beside Him
And know one day we will

He yearns for you of David
His kin from Mary’s line
He humbles Himself before you
Although He is divine

He yearns to greet His brothers
From ancient days of past
To break bread around God’s table
To be accepted by you at last

His love for you is boundless
He yearns for your embrace
He shed His blood to save you
Just look upon that face

That face once scarred and bloody
‘Til the end as He released
His physical self to save us
Now shines in joy and peace

Accept Him as your brother
Let Him into your heart
For He loves you as no other
And has right from the start.
